The Mercedes of kettles
I bought this kettle to replace the Fellow Stagg Pro EKG.
The poor quality of the Fellow, which showed up for example as paint peeling, the lid knob being installed crooked, and the display glitching and the temperature fluctuating wildly, just to mention a few faults, led me to look into products from other manufacturers.
Timemore has a good reputation for making high-quality products at very competitive prices, and after looking into it more closely I ended up choosing this Pro X model.
+The overall quality level of the Pro X, especially compared to the Stagg.
+Price
+Sufficient heating power and temperature accuracy to 0.5 degrees.
+The capacity is okay, the minimum level is around 500 ml and the maximum level is 900 ml.
+No external buttons or adjustment dials (except for the main power switch at the back of the base); the design is minimalist and stylish.
+The pouring speed is easy to control, the flow is really good, and there are no so-called accidental drips at the end of pouring like there are with the Stagg.
+The touch controls and slider are responsive, and quick temperature adjustment by sliding as well as fine adjustment with the + and - touch controls work very well.
+A temperature shortcut directly to 100 degrees by holding down the Hold button longer is a handy feature.
+The kettle lid is really good and feels high-quality compared to the Fellow. It clicks into place by itself, and getting it seated requires no force or effort at all. The lid also stays firmly in place during heating and pouring, and the kettle can be tilted to the extreme without fear of the lid leaking, unlike the Fellow.
+The kettle does not seem to have any visible flow restrictor, unlike the Fellow.

-The buzzer is a relatively loud beep, and it cannot be turned off at all.
-The volume markings on the kettle could be a bit larger, and in my opinion they were positioned better on the Stagg, though this is very much a matter of taste.
-The handle design is divisive, and the handle's "handedness" may be awkward for some people. Fortunately, at least according to Timemore's website, a version for left-handed users should also be available. Personally, I prefer the Stagg's handle.
-There are too many stickers, although they all come off relatively easily, and the excessive branding on one side of the kettle may not appeal to everyone.
If you're looking to buy a gooseneck kettle, the Pro X is a no-brainer choice.
