Functional
When brewing more than one cup with Chemex, the cover nicely slows down the cooling of the coffee in the Chemex

It's a lid and it does its job.
H.L.Expensive but essential
Without this, the coffee gets cold in the carafe. I recommend it to all Chemex users.
jNot very necessary
The product is a nice gift idea if the recipient uses the Chemex carafe a lot. However, the product is not very practical because it doesn't have a seal or fit tightly to the coffee pot, so pouring coffee is not possible with the lid on, nor does it significantly prevent the coffee from cooling.
Nice as an additional item though. Plus points for being glass as well.
